About Us – Max & Lilly

Mission

Our mission is to improve the lives of pets and their families.

Max & Lilly is a peer-to-peer marketplace whereby members provide pet services to others on the network in exchange for credits redeemable for a comparable pet service when they need it.

We believe that Max & Lilly will create a strong local support networks for pet owners that would improve pet care. Our platform connects and enables like-minded pet owners in a trusted community to share time and resources with each other and save money.

The services exchanged in our community are overnight pet sitting, dog walks, and day visits.

Max and Lilly community does not discriminate against any type of pet. You can find a sitter for any of your furry or perhaps not so furry friends.

Our Story

This is our personal story. We tell it so that you might think about all the wonderful benefits of hosting pets and just maybe it motivates you to host.

We love our dogs, cats and farm animals. We live a very active life. We love to travel. We love to explore all the many places with our dogs. When it is just not practical to bring our dogs, we explore ‘sans canine’. There have been trips we did not take because we couldn’t find an affordable and loving solution for our furry friends. Fortunately, we have great friends who have helped out, but they are not always available.

At times, we decided to use professional dog sitters. Our experiences were two-fold – some good and some not so good; all extremely pricey. We understand that companies and people, who pet sit for a living will want to charge what the market provides them. There is no issue with this at all. Our concern has always been the need for caring people that are first motivated by the love of animals. Sometimes we find pet sitters encouraged to pet sit 10 dogs in a one-bedroom apartment to maximize their money-making potential. This is something that just didn’t work for us. We always feel more comfortable having a friend, who is motivated by the love of animals to watch our pets. Of course, we found it only fair if we too were available when they needed us. This has worked well for us, but we realize the larger the network the better this system works.

Adopting him was one of the best and most rewarding things I have done. This experience opened my heart so wide and put me on a path to personally rescue roughly 70 cats and dogs since that time - all of whom are re-homed and living a happy life. My passion is to actively improve the lives of pets."

"I love animals, but can’t always have them with me when I want. I realized that kennels are not an option and the cost of dog walkers or sitters could be exorbitant. I always wanted my pets to feel at home with whomever was watching them. So, we thought why not get a bunch of friends together to help each other out when we each needed it. The plan worked very well. Max & Lilly was the culmination of that experience for the benefit of all pet owners."
